About this category
The Start-up Mentor of the Year Award celebrates a mentor who helps new founders turn ideas into businesses that last.
It is for the person who opens doors, asks the hard questions and backs founders through the difficult early years.
Eligibility
Open to mentors supporting start-ups and early-stage founders, including through accelerators and enterprise programmes, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.
Judging criteria
- Entries are judged on the progress of the start-ups mentored
- Commitment
- Testimonials from founders and wider impact on the start-up community
Qualitative criteria
- What they set out to achieve, and why it mattered
- How they work with others
- What people say about them
Metrics
- Results delivered this year
- People or clients helped
- Recognition already received
Additional criteria
- Include examples of the work
- The results in figures where possible and a word from a client
