About this category
The Women-Led Green Business Award celebrates a women-led business that puts sustainability at the heart of how it works. That may be a business built around a green product or service, or one that has transformed its own operations to cut waste, carbon and environmental impact. Judges look for real, measurable change rather than good intentions, and for leadership that inspires others to follow.
Eligibility
- Open to women-led or women-owned businesses of any size and sector
- Businesses with a green product or service, and those greening their operations, are both eligible
- Must be trading at the time of entry
Judging criteria
- Impact: measurable reductions in carbon, waste, water or other environmental harm
- Commitment: how central sustainability is to the business and its decisions
- Innovation: new approaches, products or ways of working
- Influence: encouraging customers, suppliers or peers to act
Qualitative criteria
- Long-term thinking
- Transparency about impact
- Practical, evidence-led approach
- Engages staff and customers in the mission
Metrics
- Carbon, energy, waste or water reductions
- Accreditations or certifications (for example B Corp, ISO 14001)
- Green products or services sold
- Sustainable suppliers or materials used
Additional criteria
- Achievements should fall mainly within the last three years
- Figures and certifications should be available on request
