About this category
The Emerging Business of the Year Award is for a business in its first years that has already found its customers and its feet.
It celebrates the founders who turned an idea into something real, and the early results that show where it is heading.
Eligibility
Open to businesses trading for up to three years, in any sector, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.
Judging criteria
- Entries are judged on the strength of the idea
- Early traction
- The plan for growth and what makes the business stand out
Qualitative criteria
- The problem it solves and for whom
- What sets it apart
- The founders' vision for the next three years
Metrics
- Customers won and revenue so far
- Growth month on month or year on year
- Jobs created
Additional criteria
- Include the story of how the business started
- Early results and a word from a customer or partner
