About this category
Women-Led Company of the Year honours the outstanding women-led company of the year. It looks at the whole business: performance, leadership, people, customers and contribution to the wider community. Judges look for a company that has excelled across the board and is building something that will last.
Eligibility
- Open to women-led or women-owned companies of any size and sector
- Must have been trading for at least two years
- Private, social enterprise and not-for-profit organisations are eligible
Judging criteria
- Performance: financial results and growth
- Leadership and strategy: a clear direction and well-executed plan
- People and culture: how the company develops and looks after its team
- Customers and community: reputation, service and contribution
Qualitative criteria
- Consistent excellence across the business
- Strong values
- Innovation and ambition
- Respected by customers and peers
Metrics
- Revenue, profit and growth over two to three years
- Customer satisfaction and retention
- Staff numbers, retention and development
- Awards, accreditations and press coverage
- Community or environmental contribution
Additional criteria
- Must have been trading for at least 24 months
- Financial information is treated in confidence
